Meet Anya Hannah Kerr

Registered Massage Therapist in The Annex

Anya has been a Registered Massage Therapist in Ontario since 2017, but has a history with body work and massage that goes back to her childhood. Her experience ambles through Latin America for several years, through two massage therapy schools (Chichén Itzá School of Massage Therapy in Guadalajara, Mexico in 2010, and Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy in Toronto from 2015-2016), mentorships in Mexico, Guatemala and Argentina, and a wide variety of continuing education across the Americas. Anya has been actively pursuing more breadth and depth of knowledge in her field for over a decade. Being legally blind (permanent 20/200 vision), proudly queer, bilingual and having a history of chronic illness (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) all inform her philosophy as an RMT, and keep her looking outside, inside and all around the box for answers.

From both a personal and clinical perspective, Anya believes strongly in the importance of tailoring treatments to the unique experiences and goals of each individual, and she is enthusiastic about creating the best treatment experience for everyone.

About Massage Therapy

A smooth, steady flow of techniques in the pressure that feels right for you, to soothe the nervous system into its restful state.

TMJ Pain & Dysfunction

Working on the muscles and joint of the jaw (sometimes even wearing gloves to work inside the mouth!) to address popping, clicking and pain in the jaw. *Currently unavailable*

A gentle technique focused on the head and spine, that aims its effects on the nervous system. Especially helpful for headaches and migraines.

Deep Tissue & Treatment-Focus

For specific aches, pains, or injuries. A treatment plan is created using techniques, pressure and an approach that works for you and your body, to achieve the best results possible.

Prenatal Massage

Aches and imbalances are a common side effect of the physical changes during all stages of pregnancy. Pillows are used to lay comfortably and safely on your side.

Joint Mobilization

Gentle, low-velocity adjustments are made to joints to decrease pain, increase range of motion, and encourage smoother movement in joints.

Masks must be worn securely covering nose, mouth and chin at all times in the waiting room and in the treatment room when your RMT is present. This is a private business that prioritizes the safety of high risk clients, family members, and friends.

No one can be treated if they are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, if they have received a positive COVID-19 test in the last 5 days if symptoms have not resolved, or if they have had close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19. Please keep these restrictions in mind while booking, and as you approach your scheduled appointment.

Although the Ministry of Health no longer requires specific measures be taken in healthcare settings, we are continuing to uphold those that have scientific evidence indicating it reduces the risk of COVID-19 transmission, including:

  • All equipment that might be touched by hands or faces are cleaned and disinfected before appointments. All linens are cleaned and dried on high heat, and are fresh for every client.

  • An air purifier with a HEPA filter is run in the treatment room throughout the day.

  • You must wear a mask when you enter the building, and sanitize or wash your hands when you come into the clinic. I am happy to provide you with a disposable level-2 procedural mask to put on when you arrive if you prefer it to your own. We both wear masks covering our nose, mouth and chin for the entirety of the appointment.

  • COVID-19 risk assessment questions are completed by email or in person before treatment.

If you have any questions or concerns about our health and safety protocol, please don't hesitate to reach out by email or phone (as listed below)
